For some reason in the last day or so, the WU script has been returning and displaying its forecasts on my webpage in US units (deg. F and in. of rain) rather than in metric as they did previously.
Any ideas what might have caused this, and suggestions on how to put it back to metric units?

Yes, I noticed that this morning, temperatures in F and rain in inches.

I think it was a glitch at WU’s end … both your pages are now showing temperatures in C and rain in mm
