I have WD running on a Wireless WS2310. For some reason, I cannot get WD to collect data from the station. It worked before. I can get data using the software that came with the station. I’m not sure where the problem is. I have verified that I have the right com port and station type settings. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have the same problem!
I have just re-installed XP and set up WD. When I start up the program it begins to gather data but then it just stops. I’m using 10.13z.
Another point, is it me or did it used to show wind chill? Now all I get is heat index (which I don’t really understand), Dew Point and Wet Bulb. Where’s my wind chill gone?!
Somebody help us
Simon
hi
i just tested the latest version with a ws2310 i have here
looks to be working OK
if the data receieved light is flashing, but no data appears, then maybe it might be because you need to set a barometer offset, if you live at altitude,…,…
or, check you have no other software using the com port
and, check that you dont have wd running in client mode (in the client/server setup, in the ftp/internet setup)
The data light flashes at first then just stops - sometimes after 5 mins sometimes up to 30 mins.
No other program is using the com port. Why do I need to set a barometer offset? I’ve been using the program for 6 months with no problems.
Brian, just two more questions - where has the wind chill function gone?
How do I import the data that I saved before re-installing XP?
Simon
the windchill is still there…it shows up when the heat index is no longer displayes, ie when the temperature goes below 17oC
(becuase temperatures above that, the windchill is no longer in use)
i am not sure why it is stopping for you (i.e the data recieved light still flash?)
what are the exact symptoms when it does?
barometer:
if the reading is too low, then wd will ignore the data…i.e a barometer offset would be needed
what version were you using before?
maybe try downloading the win95/NT version and see how well that version does, as a test
The data quality stays green but the receiving data light just stops.
I’m not sure what version I was using before but I will try the win95/NT version.
Thanks for the info on wind chill and baro - still have a lot to learn
I think I may have corrected mine. First I checked the client/server settings. It was set to server. I set it to client – then back to server. Not sure if that did anything but it seems to be working now. Just polling slow. Thanks.
slow polling:
do you have the ws2310 wireless option in use in the weather station setup?
if so, then please use the latest versin, 10.13z
thanks
Looks like the 10.13z beta is working better on the polling rates. Thanks.
