Windinformation

I have installed Weatherdisplay a few days ago and tried various settings (maybe to much). Now after some time (not always the same), the Windinformations are completly wrong. I get some peaks 45 km and then the systems shows 92,5 km. Resart does not help only a reboot of the Computer.

I tried to remove the application and reinstall it. But the system remeberd the settings and the problems come again. Is it possible to completely remove all appl. info and do a “clean” new installation?

I use a German Conrad 2300 type of weatherstation.

thanks for help
peter

Hi
Those windspeed readings are a hardware fault with that station, and many people have found that, BUT, you can fix it.
You need to replace the cable between the temp/hum sensor and the anenometer with a shielded cable.

i.e, there is electrical interference, and when that happens, the console reports OVR and or will report the high reading of 50 knots (92.5 kmh)
you can reset that value from the daily and all time records, see under action
but also to remove all settings, delete the ini file, wdisplay.ini from c:\windows or c:\winnt, when wd is not running

Thanks for this. I removed the cable and run the wireless mode and it worked at least for a few hours. I have connections from the “windmeter” to the thermometer and from there to the serial of the laptop. Do I have to replace all the cables with shielded ones? thank peter

Hi
its just the cable from the temp/hum sensor to the windspeed sensor that is the culprit
(and its more of a problem when connected to a PC (and other weather stations have similar problems (due to electrical feedback, etc, from the PC via the serial cable))
