Who is using WDL with other than standard lay-outs?

Hey all…

Yeah, I had an issue with my ISP that hosts my main site and now have all my weather pages on a new server that allows me to keep my FTP connection open.

if you goto http://www.stockmansridge.com.au and click on the links with-in then all is okay or as mentioned above just goto http://vineyard.stockmansridge.com.au .

2-Wheeler,

That amount is not correct. I am going to reset it to zero here shortly. I moved from Minot ND to Glendive MT and did not touch that portion of WD. Now thinking about it that’s how much snow we received from time I got here at the end of January till now.

To get the forecast is to go to the 5 day forecast via clicking on your WD main screen icon go to setup on the 5day forecast window and the bottom line choose yes and then go to upload to website and click yes on upload icons.

Also go to your XML file you are using for your WDL and make sure you have these set like this. It works for me.

I hope this helps,

Thanks Chuck. I’m traveling this week, but will give it a try when I get back.

2-wheeler, did you see I added where the all day video should work if just wanting yesterday video only, now?
(sorry, off topic)

Chuck,
I can’t seem to find the setting for the 5day forecast window you are describing. (I don’t seem to have a 5-day icon on the setup drop-down menu.)

2-Wheeler,

Here is what I get when I left click on my main screen icon. That is where the 5 day forecast window is and the setting’s you need as well. I hope this helps you out.

Chuck

Thanks Chuck. I guess I need to go back to school for WD. (I can’t see anything that looks like that.)

Anyway, I’ve got my WDL up and running now at this link:
http://www.leyner.org/WDL.htm

I’m using a slight variation of the wdlconfig_four_graphs.xml template described earlier in this thread.

Suggestions & comments welcome.

David,

Do you have WD set to download a Forecast. You probably need to have that activated first.

Once you have that setup and have downloaded a forecast you would then Left click on the Icon next to Rainfall on your WD desktop and then you should see the 5 day forecast image.

-Bob

Thanks for those links Bob. I rechecked my setup, compared to the examples and it seems to be as instructed, but I’m getting errors in my FTP log. I started another thread on the topic here:
http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/25771

WDL gets “error loading configuration” for me today.

http://www.stockmansridge.com.au/wdlconfig.xml seems to be missing?

And this is empty… http://www.stockmansridge.com.au/clientraw.txt

I just moved the temp and rainfall instruments around to put them in a more logical order and changed the color of the temp/heat index/windchill instuments just so they show up better. The heat index and windchill instruments share the same space so when temp is above 60F, heat index shows red and below 60F, windchill shows blue. And it all shows up nicely on an 800x600 screen (no side scroll needed).

That looks great, Harry!

Agreed, good job!

Thanks, guys! Of course, I’m never satisfied with the way it looks. Maybe I’ll break down and get the premium WDL and pretty it up some more. I know it’s missing all the nice graphics like some of you have only because I don’t know how and wouldn’t know what to put on them anyway.

Hi, I need some help please (not sure if this is the right thread)
I need to know how to intergrate my website theme around the weather display screen.

I already have a logo on the page but I want to add navigation links down the side.

I have tried but the flash movie is placed underneath the links at the side.

Any help

David

David,

This probably should be a new thread but…

Generally the easiest method would be to use tables and for the advanced CSS…

If you could post the URL for the page where you have tried to combine then I am sure someone can offer some additional specific advice.

-Bob

Many thanks Bob, I did try a table but it still puts the nav bar under the main display.

David

David,

Can we see the page on the web where you are trying this, as it really shouldn’t be that big of a deal to fix…

navbar file wdl code

-Bob

Hi Bob, URL is, http://www.wroxall-weather.co.uk/data/index.html
if you click on the logo it will take you to the home page, note the nav links down the left hand side, I would like it to look like that. BUT next to the WD display and not above or underneath.

Cheers

David
