What is not supported by WD Linux version

Hello!

I’ve just got WDLive going, and I am missing a few things in the grand scheme of things. Since I am using the Linux version, and have found no comments on this, thought I should make a post.

Was not sure where to post, since I think these are deficiencies in WD rather than WDLive. (Moderators, feel free to move)

Now, I get no station name (think it is set every it can be set in WD)
I get no max average for the vind speed
I have no clientrawextra.txt (I removed the line in the XML file, made it start ok)

Are there any other limitations (where WD Linux does not present the relevant data)

Or have I missed something?

to create the clientraw.txt you need to go to setup, control panel, ftp/internet, tcp/ip and check produce clientraw.txt

concerning anything else, there is atleast one other linux person using WD live, so it does work…

and i know brian is doing some work on that too

Sorry, if I did not make myself clear, it does work, no questions about that, the post was more about - what is not working on the working page - an attempt of estazblishing a delta against the Wintel powered versions.

Doe that make it any clearer?..

ic now… i think the number of variables should be the only possible issue between WD Linux and WD live…

hi
yes, i am going to release a new linux version soon (maybe today even) that adds in the missing data needed

Hi
great!
I see you have the new 3.7 linux version of WD working and its working great with WDL!!!

http://www.raubal.org/wdf/

i see i left a button visible on the all time records…
i need to fix the all time records screen…its showing the same info for the month to date
i will use my windwows code
i will fix this in the next day or so

a few people have asked me if i could produce a console only version of wd…
i.e xwindows not needed
i will do some experimenting …i might just need to change a few lines of code…but then again i might have to make a whole new program!

Brian,

Thanks for the update, you have pretty much captured all comments I wanted to make.

Thanks

Johan

hi
3.8, full install, ready now
to fix the all time records…
I will get a new zip uploaded too

Installed and running (although I cought it at midnight so it did not clear yestaerdays figures)

i notice the average direction on the wdl direction dial is out by 90 degress,…
i must be putting the data incorrectly into the client raw file from the linux version
i will fix that
note the file size of the linux version is smaller now, after I have used a file compressor
