Website- Help Needed to resolve Hosting Provider Problem***SOLVED***

In your case, I should not find another hosting.
You already have multiple nice templates working, MeteoTemplate, Aurora and an older MB-template.
I ironed out all problems running PWS_Dashboard on your server, you can add PWS_Dashboard as the fourth template.

To do:
Make sure you are running a cron-job so that the history is build correctly.
==> https://pwsdashboard.com/documentation2012/11_cron.pdf

Caching:
Your caching problem was maybe caused by a hick-up of a cloud-server.
Multiple users complained this weekend of “premium” websites returning old data intermittent with recent data.
Fo me, I would not use a caching server at all. The number of concurrent visitors is very small.
And a weather-dashboard updates it self very frequently.

@ALL:
Always post “new” problems you may encounter on this forum. I “love” / “have” to spent my time on “new to me” errors.
The first one could be followed by a large tsunami of similar errors a few days later.
I have to find the cause of the errors and develop a solution, if possible and before multiple users have non-functioning sites.
This server used by 2thepoint seems a bit more suspicious and has more controls than the other webservers.
But tweaking the CURL settings solved it, for now.

As Wim stated, the Template is looking good. I will set up the chron-job today after I read the pdf.

On another note… I wanted to also fill the background behind the Template screen. Search of the PWS Dashboard sub-forum found the post below(shortened).

"Optional: Image to fill the background behind the dashboard. "
==> and set it to the location and name: img/my_bg.jpg

I renamed the image to bg.jpg, ftp’d to my pwsWD/img/ folder on the web server. Changed the “other tab” setting in easyweathersetup.php to img/bg.jpg. However the background failed to load. Any thoughts on might be the issue & fix?

thanks,
Phil

Can’t see your dashboard from the link under your avatar. . .

Hi Bitsostring,
thanks for the heads up! Tried changing my website URL on the forum profile. Not sure if it’s corrected.

Please use:Mickleton, New Jersey Home Weather Station (ecoLcl version)

Phil

You have an background photo in the folder img/ with the name my_bg.jpg
You have to set in your settings the location+name which is img/my_bg.jpg
You can test in your browser https://www.njweathercat.com/pwsWD/img/my_bg.jpg

But you entered in your settings /img/my_bg.jpg
That extra slash means that the file is in the root of your webserver
The scripts test if the image is there and only add the link to the image if they found it.
It is not in the root so no link to the image is generated, otherwise it had given an 404 html error.

Change the setting by removing the / so that it reads img/my_bg.jpg or ./img/my_bg.jpg but never /img/my_bg.jpg

=== links to your website
You can always test what you entered in your profile, simply click on the small globe in your avatar on the left of every of your posts.

Then you see in your browser http://https/www.njweathercat.com/pwsWD <== and that is an invalid link resulting in an error message
Please check what you entered and replace with www.njweathercat.com/pwsWD or https://www.njweathercat.com/pwsWD

Also when entering links in texts, after you posted your text, just click on the links.
The link is not recognised as there is no space before https
The line should read
Please use: Mickleton, New Jersey Home Weather Station (ecoLcl version)
and the link works.

Wim

Wim,

Really nice-clean look.

Now, to show the US flag in the footer, edit …/_my_settings/languages.txt to use en-us (line 9) :slight_smile:
