If it’s this one http://www.bluwireless.com/products/nc1000w10.htm then according to the manual it has an interval mode and .jpg is one of the output format options - so it will produce a still image at intervals.
I don’t know.
I guess my feeling is that if you are displaying the picture from a webcam, the reason becomes important. For example, if the purpose is to show the sky and clouds, then a snapshot takes care of it or perhaps at best an animated gif. There is really no reason for ptz (pan tilt zoom). Otoh, if you are showing something of interest over time, then a stream is by far superior.
teh all day video .wmv files if you set and get those going are good (last hour and day to hour)

Please let us know how you make out and I’ll do the same.
I’ve got a Toshiba IK-WB11A PTZ camera which streams and can ftp stills as jpg files. The problem for me is the camera names the files based on date and time and adds 000N to the file name like this: LV20051128223015000N.JPG
I have been unable to get WD to grab the JPG files from my web server for some reason. I don’t see a custom tag for the seconds %time-seconds% like they have for month, day, hour and minute and maybe that’s my problem.
For what it’s worth, I believe you can handle that by renaming the file. You call the rename with a macro scheduler. For example, I keep one file in an upload directory, then rename it to weatherX.jpg (where x increments with each macro) and then move it. I use the regular Windows ftp program, but maybe WD can do it also. I think you can use the regular ftp program to rename as it’s moving as well, I think.
Niko mentioned he uses Macro Scheduler at www.mjtnet.com. I checked it out yesterday, liked it and bought it.
