I’m having problems setting up a webcam image, so it will display as my Weather Icon on the WD front end. I can see images in the setup page, and in preview mode, but on the webcam image page, the image is black, and this is what is being displayed on the WD front end…
Thankx a lot. The support you have given yet again outstrips the cost of of WD. A ‘thank you’ payment will be winging its way to you when funds are available to me, which will be very, very soon…I promise.
Sorry to be a pain…have just ‘discovered’ that settings for webcam are not being saved, ie each time I reload WD, I have to reset the capture device and video format, even though the field is checked to ‘Restore Settings Next Time’ is checked…
humm
it should work (does for me)
make sure you click on save settings too , after you have it all reset up and working though
any error under view, program error log?
I will see how it goes. Nothing in log. I believe I have ‘saved’ prior to exiting the frames. As I say, will see what happens on the next restart of WD…
I had to reboot my PC, and once agin I have had to set my webcam settings again…ther is an error in the program log as follows:-

Hi
good news
i have found a new web cam capture component
much easier to setup
and it can handle higher resolutions
and it uses less cpu and memory
for all users, the web cam driver (from the drop down list) will have to be set (click on driver select, select from list, then click on set)
then click on video source, then tab to capture source, and select the camera from there
then click on apply
then you should see a picture…to make live, click on start capture
good luck!
its night time here,so i only have a picture with this new method of black (and some light shining)…so tomorrow i will know if its better
