I’m using the Pro-4000 and had a heap of trouble getting it to run properly.

Lucky for me they don’t provide any way to purchase a trackercam. Probably would have bought one to try…whew! #-o

That is actually called TrackerPOD …

Looks like they sell for about $90 on Ebay.

My biggest problem would be mounting… Currently mine is actually outside in the elements. Its been doing good for almost 6 months and since we just got past the Monsoon season, it will be fairly dry for sometime to come.

But where it is at, the view is pretty limited. I would take a view to the NE but my wifes large flower thing plant is in the way. I could trim it, but that might start not go over too well. If I move it up, I run into both a shelter and a distance cable thing.

I will be trying one of my CCTV cameras this weekend though, its designed for outdoor, has IR and I can at least put it pointed over my truck so I can see the video when they steal it.

I’m kinda surpised nobody has messed with the current camera. It is inside a walled off area, but it is in plain view.

Just realized that the street lamp on the corner is out… wondered why it was so dark outside. We have a city lamp on our property as our house is on a corner. All I can see are cars driving by occasionally now.

I like the 4000 and after doing a ton of tweeks with the settings I am pleased with it’s performance. My cam is mounted inside, looking out. Not much of a photo at night as it is rather dark were I live but during a swnostorm I cat flip some lights on by the garage and front porch and that should help.

Also,
It has been around 10 days since I mad the modification to my WS-2210 Solar Sensor and it is still running fine. I have a post in the Weather Station Forum on how I added a new solar panel with a extension of wire that allows the sensor to remain in the shade and the solar panel to be exposed to sunlight.

Does VisionGS offer a streaming mode?

The 4000 works pretty good for that.

At the moment my 4000 is mounted inside my roof access window with the screen out (I NEED to clean that window someday). Works pretty well that way. Got this interesting moon last night. There are no outside lights here most of the time so this is camera only. Just thought it was kind of fun…

Yes it does. I don’t understand the concept of streaming thouugh. I can click a button to enable streaming but how do I get it to run in streaming mode on my websight? Is that difficult to do?

Thanks for any help.

That depends on the software.

The software that I’m playing with now webcam32 and ConquerCam can be addressed using a simple javascript program that pulls the images from the webcam software which sets up a special port. That port needs to be filtered through the firewall to be accessible from the outside.

The other one is using a java app which basically does the same thing, but allows you control the movement of the camera by clicking on the image itself.

I played with the VisionGS stuff a long time ago, but I don’t remember how it works now.

did you see i added HTTP server ability to WD;s web cam cam capture?
you just set the port number
and then have a url that links to your IP address (i.e get a auto assigned dynamic IP address like i have done)
and then you have near live web cam images
see the link at the end of the weather page

I was looking at that the other day… however…

My webcam is not on the same machine as WD is. And for some reason, WD doesn’t see the CCTV cameras that I do have on that machine.

So I have to use a different program to do the webcam stuff which is okay.

Hey! the City of Mesa finally after about 3 months fixed the broken street lamp on the corner by the house…

Thar be light at night now… This enables the North West Webcam at night now as there is something to see other than streaks and a near black and white picture (mostly black except when a car drives by).

I hope to be activating multiple cameras here shortly with some new software I’m got coming in.
