WeatherD.EXE second ( 2wd.txt ) crashes

I’ve installed a second copy of WeatherD to be used for a Davis Vantage Pro.
I don’t know why, but it seems that when the first weatherd try to access the modem, the second one crashes, not always.

WeatherD first:
RainWise WS2000 - COM2
Serial Modem Connection - COM3
Connection every half hour ( Es. 10:30 - 11:00 - 11:30, etc )
Weather Display 9.95

WeatherD second:
Davis VantagePro - COM1
Serial Modem Connection - COM3
Connection every half hour ( Es. 10:45 - 11:15 - 11:45, etc. )
Weather Display 9.95

COM3 with IRQ7 no conflicts at all.

hi
thats intereseting, as its the separate ftpupd.exe program that uses the modem…
but maybe you could try getting a usb serial adaptor and use that com port

What operating system are you running?

Brian,

Wouldn’t it still be 2 separate instances of ftpupd? What about pointing the second WD to the ftpupd of the first WD by specifying it in the alternate ftp box?

I’ve already used only an USB modem with the same problem of the serial one.

I didn’t try with two modem:

Line ------ Serial Modem --- phone jack ----- USB modem

----------------------|------------------------------------|
------------------COM 3------------------------------USB in

I’ve Windows 2000 professional
But I’me sure that when the second instance tries to access the modem, the first one does not use it.
