I know its simple but ,Does anybody have the page by page setting to upload a weather website using the creation setup wizard,I have printed off the operation manual about creating a weather web page,but i found that not very helpfull.

first thing is to enter your ftp settings under setup, control panel, connections
i.e ftp server name, password, username, and remote directory (which may just need to be blank)
then turn on the main internet switch, and then under upload times, set times to upload
then go to setup, control panel, webfiles/web page
then set a station file name
e.g myweather
then go to action, update internet now
to test it out
then go to view, ftp log, view full log, then copy/paste the contents to a post here so we can see what is and what is not happening
and what your web site URL should be

So the first problem you need to fix is that the ftp server is not recognizing your username and password.
…and then I see from the freenetname site that your directory should be set to “public_html”, you may need to use slashes when you enter that in WD eg “/public_html” or “public_html/” or maybe “/public_html/”
when it works your weather URL will be www.wightwonder.co.uk/whippinghamisleofwight.htm

Still having problems trying to upload the webpage,its ok if i do it manually with ws-ftp,but it will not do it using the ftpupd.exe ,the trouble is i think is that when i go to the web files upload times and press upload all now it goes straight into the ws-ftp pro program and comes up with this message

Also check that your DNS and local name servers are properly configured and responding. and a blank explorer screen,what is really funny about this is that i use the same setting manually using ws-ftp to upload ,so what going on???
do you have the text ftpupd.exe entered somewhere in the weather display setup?
When did you last do a manual upload?
The data all shows times from yesterday evening.
just a thought, are the ftp settings you are using specifically for aol, or are they new settings from your new webspace?
I was wondering if the settings you are using to set up the ftp in wd are settings for aol, and therefore calling ws ftp to open and run.
there was another thread about AOL, that you cant nromaly use a auto type FTP program…

also to you shaun i have updated it now ands no i’m not using the aol ftp setting using the wightwonder ftp
under the connections setup
in the top part
where it says Get ISP
what do you have listed there
(after clicking on Get ISP)
i.e, who is your internet service provider?
weather display does not anywhere call any reference to ws_ftp.exe
and ws_ftp.exe would not normaly call any reference to ftpupd.exe
so the username and password are the same in the connections setup as in ws_ftp?

as that only normaly allows you limited privaledtges on a ftp server
