I have noticed that in the past few days the update to the Weather Ungerground webpage has cesed. Not sure what is going on, It seams as though if I use the test now button the data is put onto the page, but its not automaticaly uploading the data. I am using the version 3.3 of the FTP program too. Any ideas?
What does the ftp log say? Is it updating?

Just as a point of reference WD is uploading fine using ver 10.18y
unfortuanatly it used to work and in the past few updates it has stopped, and unfortuanatly I can’t go back due to me having the WS-2010-13 things which has the CRC errors in it that Brian’s only just fixed…
It is providing an error though…

Sounds like your WD doesn’t know where to send the files. What version of WD are you using?
10.19o
Haven’t got there yet… still at 10.19n
Will upgrade and see if it makes a difference but I don’t think so. It will take a couple minutes…
Upgrade went okay. I did notice that the ftpclient does not send the weather underground data though. It is the ftpupd.exe program that does that. When it ran, it said it was version 7.45.
If you can’t you should check to see what version of that you have. I almost always do a full system update, so I assume the version I have is the one that came with the 10.19o version.
7.45 is my version of that file too.
Just so you can get a feel for what I am talking aobut my site is:
I don’t know what to tell you. You are getting that error about the ftp server not being known, but I don’t even think you can change the ftp server for the weather underground. I dont see a setting place for it.
My data is
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KAZMESA12
and the update didn’t skip a beat.
You might need to wait until Brian gets back the end of the weekend unless someone else has an idea.
I did a .zip update of v10.19o. My FTP version is 7.44 (10/22/04) and I am uploading ok.
Could this be a firewall issue?
The new XP internal firewall or a add-on firewall (Zone alarm, Norton, McAfee, etc).
Check the firewall logs.
Seems like I recall an issue where a manual FTP upload would work but an automatic FTP upload would not work. After many days of trying to figure this out we determined the firewall was stopping the automatic FTP upload.
I downloaded the full version of V10.19o and installed it. FTP now 7.45 dated 11/11/04
Weather Underground updates automatically ok.
See: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KNCLITTL5
I did have to adjust my firewall to allow ftpupd.exe to access the internet.
That is an interesting item. If anything other than WeatherD.exe is updated a full download is required to obtain all of the WD updated files. 8O
thats all good for you guys, however I am not running a firewall on that machine…
The only firewall I am using in IPCHAINS on a linux machine that is directly connected to the internet and that firewall has not changed in all that time… the only thing that has changed is that all packets on port 8888 go to a specified computer on port 80, and port 8888 has nothing to do with FTP as far as I know.
I am not using SP2 on that machine either.
The problem here is still unresolved.
Is the 301: Interrupted the clue here? Wunderground are interrupting your connection???
My Registry entry for wunderground starts as:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\wdisplayftp.ini\Weather wunderground url]
“url”="http://weatherstation.wunderground.com/weatherstation/updateweatherstation.php?ID=…
Is this anything like yours?
I always update using the full update. Only if I am testing something with Brian would I use the zip file version. This ensures you are getting anything that changed.
I also save the versions with version numbers in the filename so that I can go back if necessary.
When I did this update, because I knew it was a major update, I did a full update not just the EXE file.
I am still getting the same problems, and I can’t figure out what it is…
