"weather display live" and "weatherlink"

Hello. I have in the same PC the program “WeatherLink” by “Davis” and the “Weather Display Live” loading both data from the “Davis Vantage Pro.” The problem I have is that when “…Display Live” is connected to PC and uploading data to my ftp server, the “WeatherLink” doesn’t upload anything because he says that communications port (COM2) is busy by other one.
Does somebody have this two programs running together and loading data from “Davis Vantage Pro” at the same time? Is it possible?. How I can do it ??. My computer is running with XP Professional. Thank’s from Catalonia, in Spain. Pere. http://www.ea3aji.com.

I run wd and wl on my pc, but I found the best way to do it was to use a weather envoy and data logger on a second com port. That way you can run wd with a one minute data logging interval, and wl with a larger one.

You may be able to get the results you want by freeing the com port (in com port set up) when you want to download data into wl, but I found wl did not like this too much.

The downside of sharing a com port is your ‘live’ weather will not always be live.

Hello and thank’s to answer me quickly. Yes, I think I’ll try “WL” every 15 minutes and “WDL” every minute. Because freeing ports by set-up can be horrible !!! So, perhaps, I won’t have problems with collisions. Regards from Catalonia. Pere. http://www.ea3aji.com

hi
yes, you cant have both Weather display and WL getting data from the VP at the same time…from the same comport…

but, i now have a option, in the weather station setup, to listen to the data…i.e use a serial cable Y splitter…

IWW, did you see i now have rain funnl type gauges for the individual dials produced by WD?

Where do I look?

in the custom web page setup, (ftp/internet setup)
and you can even have those on the main weather dials page (tick that in the colour setup)
