“226-Warning: client is in ASCII mode - Assuming data is plain text”
Not sure what this means and how to fix it. Most everything on my site is working fine, except some graphic elements, like my WindowCam picture and the graphics on the WRTI page (“Philly Regional Conditions courtesy of WRTI 90.1 FM” from the station I work for) seem to render slowly. Wondering if the “plain text” issue might be causing this.
It probably is causing the problem. FTP can operate in ASCII (text-only) or Binary mode. Binary mode is use to transfer non-text files, e.g. images.
I don’t use Windows WD at the moment so I can’t explain how to fix it but look for any setting that seems to refer to binary mode to see if that helps.
I don’t have that checked off as I’m not using a second non-WD file FTP instance and the first instance doesn’t have a selection for that. Also, the error is occurring on all uploads, both WD and non-WD files.
