Brian,
the last good version for me was 10.18x
With 10.18y and 10.18z and 10.19 WD crashes after about three minutes of running.
When I got back to 10.18x, there is no problem!
I am using WIN 98SE

same problem here. 10.18x worked but i updated to 10.18z. it runs for about 5 minutes and then crashes. error log is empty. today i downloaded 10.19 and the same problems. installing 10.18x again and suddenly the same crashes …
i think i go crazy … what do i do with a weather website that has no data?? please help!!
try running the beta 10.18y version, as it has special debug code, called euraka log, which should give more information
I tried the beta 10.18y version. It crashed twice. Info sent to Brian.
tried the latest beta (10.19 debug) from the download section. crashed 3 times. info sent to brian too … hoping and praying it can help !!
got that now (and replied)
(was up at school cleaning out a PTA shed, and then helping clean up after playcenter). (back home now)
Vers. 10.19a - same problem:

Same on 10.18z
Faulting application weatherd.exe, version 10.18.0.0, faulting module weatherd.exe, version 10.18.0.0, fault address 0x000bbd5c.
peter, what weather station type?
graphix has a ws2500, but it was ok here in testing with my ws2500 and his settings, so i suggested he might have some corrupted data or similar?
Brian, I am also seeing my serial port connection shut down for some reason. I have tried 2 different Dallas 1wire adapters and they both do it eventually. Also tried different serial ports. Today at 11:32 the graphs and all data coming in quit updating. This has gone on for several days but I have been trying different things to eliminate my setup.
I get an alarm, then the packet counter quits updating and all data freezes. This is in the program error log:
ERROR: Access violation at address 00BD57EC in module ‘weatherd.exe’. Read of address 0000031C at time/date 11:32:43 AM 11/5/2004
leo also reports the same problem with the 1 wire serial port
and it seems to have started when i added in the code for the leaf moisture sensor
do you have actual dallas 1 wire station, or , a, use dallas 1 wire as well setup?
i am not sure what is going on yet…but try 10.19a for starters
hi brian, thanks for your help so far. after some more testing last night and this morning and resetting the ws2500-pc (batteries off, ten minutes without them, batteries in, letting the data logger collect data for about 1 hour and reconnect to the pc) installed 10.18x again and … what should i say? it works! works fine since 12 hours now and no problems. even the comport release works fine.
i don’t know wether to believe in miracles or simply be glad about that. nethertheless i do not dare to update to 10.19a. i’m afraid the whole thing starts again from the beginning.
hi
ok, just sent you a email asking how it was going
and i was even thinking of suggesting you try the remove batteries thing, as it might have been a hardware issue (sometimes it is hardware and not software)
good you have it working!
It is all 1wire…I guess that is what you are asking. The only component that actually says Dallas on it is the anemometer. The remaining componets use the dallas 1wire sensors or counters. I will try 10.19a
Started 19a at 5:07pm and the next drop out was a few hours later.
ERROR: Access violation at address 00BCFEA4 in module ‘WeatherD.exe’. Read of address 0000031C at time/date 7:44:39 PM 11/5/2004
i will do a run here with the dallas 1 wire station i have here
4 hours and still ok with my dallas 1 wire vers 3 station
I will leave it running overnight
Brian,
I have VP with solar but no UV
Still the same thing - Vers 10.18x runs with no problems, everything after that crashes.
Peter
I have gone 12 hrs now since the last lockup with 19a.

and its still OK, dallas 1 wire vers 3[
i will leave it going
good news its still ok for you chris
