After having WD running successfully for several years I have noticed that in the last few days the data becomes stale. The file is being uploaded correctly - just the data is hours old.
Restarting WD does not resolve. Logs indicate no issue. WD displays current values.
My bad, wasn’t reading correctly. If WD is displaying the correct info but the clientraw file is stale then it’s not the USB driver. Something must be preventing WD from writing to the clientraw file. Check you don’t have virus scanner or similar…I usually exclude the wdisplay directory from being scanned by these types of programs. Also make sure the harddrive is not going to into sleep mode.
Make sure you look at the actual file, programerrorlog.txt, in your WD install directory. Once WD is restarted it will show empty from the WD view panel, but it may contain data. Other than that all we can be certain of it that WD stops writing to the file for some reason. I don’t know if the debug version of WD would help or not in this case.
ADM - I found an issue with a friend’s setup recently, (he was having the same issue as you) he had checked for the clientraw to be uploaded every 5 minutes - a separate check box on the right hand side. The fix was to uncheck it (obviously) but to select a much more frequent period like 12seconds or something in the left hand column select number thumbwheel box. Once that was done, he was away laughing!
