VP Datalogger problems

Hi Brian…

After upgrading from 10.15z (10.16?) to 10.16d, I have noticed that when restarting WD, it does not update everything with the datalogger data.

The first time it happened, (with 10.16b), I wasn’t sure. So I forced a test.

Last night, at 21:57, I did a clean shutdown of WD. Then I waited until about 23:29 to re-start it. Came up looking good, downloaded the full hour and a half of data from the datalogger, then processed it.

But when it was finished, my graphs looked like this. All of them, 24hour, 48hour, etc. looked like the picture with the time period missing. Additionally, the data was frozen in time for that period. (All records in the log were the same, even though the temperature was dropping and the humidity was rising.

This used to work fine, definately in 10.15z (10.16). Not sure about 10.16a since it ran 3 days without crashing. I only shut it down for the upgrade to 10.16b. That is where I first noticed the problem.

just running a test here now
I did change something, and it must be that (trying to get the data extraction from a rain wise station to work)

silly me
i had made a change so that the last 12 hour graph is not updated if converting a log file to graphs

uploading a fix as 10.16g now
(i have confirmed its OK)

you will notice i have speed up the 2nd part of the data extraction too alot!
(a few versions back)

10.16g is ready now

i apologies for this
i should have tested that change i made

but i am always in too much of a hurry …wife going out the door , re something to do with kids/school, etc,saying hurry it up, and threatening to put a lock on the computer room door, etc

Just updated to v10.16g and the data extraction hangs up and wont load any data. Also my two ftp programs are not starting.

does it say 10.16g as the version number?

the clienrawrealtimeftp.exe starts ok for me (and i have 2 of them)

i will do a restest there again

No…the display screen just says 10.16…
From the dowload page beta is still showing 10.16d and the one I downloaded was the top one that says 10.16g and shows the most recent time.

I reloaded 10.16b and my two ftp’s started but the data extraction won’t work.

There is no data showing on the display screen either.

i have not updated the beta version
i updated the main and the zip version
maybe you are getting a cached verson still

just did another test:
extraction worked
and the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe starts up
note, that any other .exe programs now only start up after the first minute has passed in wd

Reloaded 10.15m and the data extraction problem is still there.

is the date/time on the VP correct and the same as the weather station?
is the data logger set to 1 minute samples?
(works best with wd…use weather link to check that)

Downloaded g again… 10.16g is showing on the screen but the data extraction is not completing and the ftp’s are not starting. Even reloading old versions hasn,t helped… Help!

The times and settings are ok… was working fine a half hour ago with v10.16b. Shut down that version and loaded the new and the problem started.

maybe its some corruption in the data
any errors under view, program error log
did you see my note that the clientrawrealtimeftp.exe starts up at the first minute change in wd now (as long as everything else is updating of course)

Rebooted the computer and everything is working fine :smiley:
I haven’t had to reboot after upgrades before. Something must have just gliched!!
