Firstly, I am very new to this stuff so I may not be up on all the correct terminology and the best ways to do some of these things!
We have recently installed a Davis Vantage Pro 2 station for a client. We installed a PC connected to the console via USB everything works fine with weatherlink.
Customer wants to display fancy live display on their site, so we suggested WD Live as it looks great and have used it before a few years ago.
Anyway, the issue Im having is with the local weather display setup. I have switched the console to Serial mode and weatherlink works fine. I can occasionally get weather display to display data, but after a while (couple of hours maybe) it seems to stop displaying any data.
I can usually manage to get it to reconnect by fiddling with the Datalogger setting in WD but it never seems to work for long. Im sure i must be making some sort of silly mistake, so could someone point me in the right direction?
I don’t know how to verify, but you may want to try the recovery method for USB Express mode. If you ran Weatherlink and set to USB mode then it could have set the console to USB Express mode. See here for recovery procedures.
Hi Guys thanks for your replies. I will try the recovery method. Weatherlink is works when i run it up and connect it to com 3, and no, im not running them both at the same time.
In regards to the drivers, the machine has actually just had a driver update for the usb adaptor via windows update. I will give the machine a reboot and see if that helps.
The weird thing is that i have been able to get WD to talk to the logger by fiddling with the logger settings, maybe thats just coincidence?
Well strangely ive managed to get this working. If i turn off the data logger, WD immediately starts receiving data. I dont really need the historical stuff as the client only wants to use WDLive, but does anyone have any idea why this might be?
