I finally recieved my VP2 and installed it today. I am happy to report that I have had no trouble with the wireless installation. I also did not have any problems changing WD over to the new station.
That’s great to hear -
Just bought snow tires for the Jetta, so my hopes of the VP2 will have to wait a couple months…
I bought mine from Scientific Sales for $550, not too bad but still hurt a little.
thats good to know the VP2 works with WD OK
blimey the equivalent in GB
It has been up and running for several hours now and I havent had any problems. I will let you know if anything comes up, but so far so good.
Excahnge rates can be a killer, thats why I love mexico
yeah tell me about it - only good if you want to go on hols - $1.93 for
Has anyone inquired with Davis if there is an upgrade from the older unit to the new 2 version.
I bought a 9191 full Vantage Pro Plus with UV/Solar in late Sept and the only issue has been receiption. It remains most of the time in the mid to high 90’s but the unit is only 75ft away from the console and I did a lot of testing before placement.
I’ve considered a repeater, but if there is a way to upgrade, it sounds like the newer unit has made receiption a lesser issue.
I have been running my VP 2 with Weather Display, Weather Display Live and the WeatherLink data logger for about a week. I had a few config issues with WD which Brian has been very helpful in resolving. The WeatherLink data logger works with both the new VP 2 and the previous model.
Unfortunately there is no upgrade since the VP2 uses a spread spectrum wireless technonlogy. Totally different wireless technology so the older sensors will not work either.

the problem would be that the console and the base station ISS would need upgrading (but you would think amybe you could get the transmitter), and any extra wireless sensors…just about a whole new station… :?
I’ve not heard back from them yet.
I should give them a call during the day if I can remember.
I would guess that a trade-in of the console and replacement of the transmitter would not be that big of a deal if they chose to do it but who knows. I’d have to swap out the Anometer transmitter too since that is old as well.
Only had the station since the end of Sept though… never know.
Found my station at 75% tonight… Had to adjust the console again to get it back in the 90’s
