Vantage Pro 2 Wirless Reception Range

Currently I am using a Weather Monitor II from Davis for CoffeBluffWeather.com, but I am thinking of upgrading to the Vantage Pro 2 and I am looking at better mounting locations that may be fairly far from the receiver. The Davis site says up to 1000 feet, does anyone have any practical experience with this yet?
Thanks
Scott

We have tested the USA version of the Vantage Pro 2 and we have had some good results in open air operation. We didn’t get anywhere near 1000ft range even in open air but we were using the USA version and not the UK version so its not fair for me to say that a UK version can’t go this distance.

We at BlueWave Technologies Uk have developed a digital transceiver system which will convert a Cabled Vantage Pro to a Wireless system with full 350m (over 1000ft ) wireless range, you can even use wireless accessories with this system and it’s fully certified for use in the UK and EU. Adding our conversion to a standard cabled version of the Vantage Pro will give you wireless output comparable to the Vantage Pro 2 at a lower cost.
