Right now, mine is working fine. Each time I reload WDLive, the rain bars AND the cloud “climb” into place.
But when I reported this last night, I observed CaptDilli’s cloud was not climbing into place, but just sitting at zero. At that same time, mine was just appearing at the correct altitude. It was not animatedly climing into place. (Is animatedly a word?) It was already there. Maybe something wasn’t loading correctly. Like I just said, right now, all is fine.
On another note, I noticed that, with the wind out of the north, my wind direction dial is taking those rotating trips around the dial as it goes back and forth. I must say, however, that the actual wind direction is swinging up to almost 100 degrees at times. (Little poofs off the lake from all directions.) But the vane itself is not making 360’s when I observe it on the pole. Just the WDLive dial.
Just observations. Like you asked, anyone else? :?:

The way WDL works is by taking the shortest distance to the new position, based upon where it currently is, when the new data arrives. Unfortunately data doesn’t arrive fast enough to accurately track the direction the vane takes so it has to guess. Also because the vane can move faster than the WDL dial, WDL may be heading for one position which is far away from where the dial has since moved to which is why you see it ‘hunting’ around the dial for the new position. I get this on my dial because my wind vane is not in an ideal location and I get turbulence from nearby houses - although I have recently raised it by a few feet without domestic authorities complaining
I have a similar problem. I want to raise it quite a bit, and move the temp sensors/rain guage away from the roof. Maybe then I too will see the dial stabilize.
Fortunately, my domestic authority doesn’t look up that high. Out of sight, out of mind. I am concerned with some pretty severe thunder storms we have had in the last couple of days. I used to shut off all my computers. Now I sit at it, with it connected by wire to the VP console which is connected by wire to the sensors sticking 6 feet above my roof watching the dials spin and the rain guage climb. I don’t want to be like Ben Franklin!
By the way, did you notice I stole your full screen display option? The way WDLive re-sizes itself, it looks great!
I see you have the same problem I have. The little cloud does not always slide up the scale. Even though you show a cloud base of 6625 right now, the cloud is sitting at zero.
Oops?
That may have been a problem with uploads or a reboot/restart. I have not noticed that condition. I may look more closely. I have been watching the RADAR and Lightning2K most of the time lately.
