UV and lightning blocks

In the meantime I have completely installed my pws with help from Wim van der Kuil (thanks for this).

I still have a few questions.

  • PWS_module_test.php does not indicate a uv value in: uvsolarlux_popup.php, which one should I use from ecowitt.

  • lightning_station_smal.php is not a block of, how should this be set, is block lighting_station_small.php.

See: Hart van de Maasduinen (Nederland) Home Weather Station (ecoLcl version)

You are already uploading all data from your ecowitt station.
It reads
“Use Ecowitt extra sensors with another weatherprogram”
Dutch:
“Gebruik Ecowitt extra sensoren met een ander weerprogramma
Dus selecteer daar “Do not use”

All data is available from your ecowitt upload.
So only use station blocks and do not select any other upload file.

Wim

For UV solar your station has those
Tab “Devices”
Last selection:

How can I change extra_temp 1 to soil temperature and change extra_temp 1 to room temperature?

PWS Froggit

I changed Lightning in settings.php.

In the translation file, lang_nl.txt, which is probably where you should have changed lightning.

Hi
I have a question about lightning block please.
In settings it asks for NSRealtime.txt. NSD does not have NSRealtime.text but NSDRealtime.txt. I can change that no problem which I have but still noting shows up properly in the box.
NSD

How do I fix this please?

Many thanks
Chris

There are two formats for nextstorm files, the script will check which format is used depending on the number of fields in the file.

Your file is not inside the “pws” folder but in another folder in the root of your website.
Try to set the location in easyweather to ../nexstorm/NSD/NSDRealtime.txt
The ../ tells the server to go 1 folder down to the root of your swebsite and then into the nextstorm folder.

Normally you better first test by moving the nextstorm file into a folder inside the dashboard folder.
That is why the demo / easyweather suggest moving it to the demo folder.

Succes,
Wim

In the translation file, lang_nl.txt, which is probably where you should have changed lightning.

If a text-string is not what you want it is “stupic” to modify the display-texts in the PHP code directly in a block.

It is “wise” to change the text-string in the language file.
For dutch it is https://weerstationafferden.nl/pws-froggit/languages/lang_nl.txt

As scripts are updated when there are changes, such as upcoming PHP 8.5, you have to redo the changes in the PHP scripts again.

Also when you change a text in a script, the other languages used by your visitors are not changed.

Succes,
Wim

Ah. Many thanks Wim. Working fine now

How do I set the ground temperature for the 1st value and the pond temperature for the 2nd value?

Run the debug dashboard PWS_module_test.php
Select in the top row → middle dropdown soil-tmp-moist.php

The area at the bottom shows all untranslated texts.

 |soil1|soil1| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil2|soil2| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil3|soil3| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil4|soil4| #soil_tmp_mst.php

“Translate” and add to your languages/lang_nl.txt file at the bottom

 |soil1|Grond| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil2|Vijver| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil3|soil3| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil4|soil4| #soil_tmp_mst.php

Succes,
Wim

Missing translations
Sometimes words in the website are not translated.
This happens most often with new conditions at your forecast or just released new blocks
Testing all weather-conditions for all regions is nearly impossible.
But you can add those missing translations yourself.

  1. Start the “debug” console, your-website.xx/pwsWD/PWS_module_test.php
  2. The top-row contains all available blocks to test.
  3. Select the block with the missing translations and press “Test-it”
  4. In the white box below you see all output of the block including the missing translations.
  5. Copy them to your languages/lang_??.txt le and translate the right part.
    Typing errors in existing translations

Sometimes words are already translated but they contain a spelling error / typo.
You have to update those translations yourself.
Use a decent script / program editor, do not use notepad or ms-word
Open your language le: pwsWD/langauges/lang_xx.txt Where xx is your language code.
Search for the misspelled word and correct the right part. Leave the | at the end.

This area is not in the languages/lang_nl.txt…

You have to add missing translations yourself.

Copy them to your languages/lang_nl.txt file .

 |soil1|Grond| #soil_tmp_mst.php
 |soil2|Vijver| #soil_tmp_mst.php

Wim

Advice:
Place all new and updated lines at the bottom of the file.

Makes live easier when updating scripts / new version of the daashboard.

:grinning:

Wim

Thank you Wim for your help.

This works now good…

The only thing that can be added is the leaf wetness, this only gives the humidity percentage in percentage.
I would like to have that added but I can’t find a setting for this.

It is shown in the rain-block if it is more relevant than f.i. snow
Field description “Blad vocht” in Dutch

In your ecowit upload file its value is

    [leafwetness_ch1] => 0

Never seen that low when it is raining.
See also Leaf wetness - Wikipedia
Should show a value up to 100% wetness when it is raining.

Wim

Thank you Wim, this is my leaf wetness sensor…

Unfortunately, no data appears when you click on a graph.
How can this work?
