I am using TrayTemp (and loving it!). I would also like to access it from another PC on the LAN. Is there a way to do this instead of going out the server I post to?
Jeff,
Is this the TrayTemp I wrote a long time back? If so I’m not sure I follow your question. Can you clarify it a bit? Sorry
Yes Greg, this is the one! I am trying to access the host machine to “get” the clientraw file. Normally I access the clientraw which I have FTP’d to my ISP. I was hoping there was a way to access the clientraw.txt file from within the LAN.
Instead of mapping it to “http:/[xxxx.clientraw.txt}” could I map to “c:/[xxx.clientraw.txt]”?
Jeff,
I’m using a form of getURL in the code as it currently stands. Do you have a web server on your weather server?
I was running IIS - but I’ve turned it off due to the potential security issues (I got nailed on my remote machine!)… Would that be what’s required?
Jeff,
Let me look into the code. I should be able to grab the client raw locally from a network drive.
What version are you running. I know there’s no version number but do you have the one that places a current condition icon in the system tray along side the temp?
Greg, the one I am running doesn’t put a current condition in the system tray. Just the temperature reading.
Thanks for looking at.
Jeff,
I have a new executable available. Try downloading it from this url:
http://zx10.ingr.com/NetMeetingSetup/package.zip
You can also pull the icons from that location
