I’ve been thinking of saying this for a while, but today is the day!
This forum is place for discussing the weather, weather software, weather hardware, in fact almost anything weather related.
It’s election year in the US. It will probably be election year in the UK next year. There’s a good chance that it’s election year in countries where forum users live most of the time. However, this forum isn’t the place to build up/knock down any specific politician, party, policy…unless it’s weather related. In any case we’ve got a worldwide audience, and most people don’t really care whether Prime Minister Umbongo of Umbongoland gets re-elected for his 91st term
This forum is not pro or anti-Bush. It is not pro or anti-war. It is not pro or anti-hunting (a current UK debating point). It is not pro or anti any specific religion, or indeed religion itself. This forum is pro-weather.
That’s not to say that individuals using this forum don’t have their own opinions about such matters. I’d be worried if they didn’t. However, this is not the place to discuss them. These type of discussions usually end up in a slanging match between parties who won’t/don’t want to agree and I don’t want to see the forum degenerate into that.
There are plenty of other places on the Net where you can debate as many contentious things as you like…just don’t do it here please!
I’m not singling any specific person out through these comments. Some people might think I’m referring to a specific post. I’m not. Think of this comment as being the result of a number of recent posts containing political comments.
Lets get back to our real reason for being here…the weather! It’s a damp grey day here…
