Sunshine Hours Too Low

WD is only reporting a little over 5 hours a day of sunshine and I know we have to be getting more than that. I live in Florida and its sunny all day long.

Any thoughts?

hi
under view, sunshine hours, it should report the max sunshine hours for the day…

now, what weather station type, etc??

We are using a Davis Vantage Pro Plus.

Hi,
remeber Brian?
I have been reporting the same problem.

yes
but I did say that there are setting to change to get it better
i.e the solar % threshold for sunny, you can try setting that higher
sunshine hours seem to work good for me
i will know more when we get a better sunny day
so far 6 hours for today (its 4pm, but there was alot of cloud before 9am, and then 1 hour of cloud
going by my solar graph, WD is spot on for 6 hours of sunshine for me today
(davis VP with solar)

same here in Rotorua, but my sensor has no Sounshine Hour count,
but is showing correct on the grafic sunny and cloudy perriods.

then i must have a problem in the code for use of a dallas 1 wire solar sensor used with a non dallas station type
do you have the switch ON,on the right hand side, under setup, control panel, solar sensor setup?

is there a solar % showing above the wind direction dial?
is that showing correct readings?

Hi,

is there a solar % showing above the wind direction dial? is that showing correct readings?
yes Brian, it is showing very correctly, every things works fine, it is just the hours are to low.

I ended up with 9 hours of sunshine counted by wd yesterday
which was about right, going by the graph

while its reading 100%, the sunshine hours should be increasing,…yes?

Yes Brian it should increase, I have the “Adjust factor for VP wm/2 (%) set to 500”
