Summary Icon and Text Setting

Learning curve…

Okay… today we have possible thunderstorms in the area and the possible threat of rain (30%).

My station is reporting bright sunshine…

I figure I need to learn about Metar settings… but the settings seem to be spread all over the place…

I got something working in that it shows the text that is appropriate but the font is way small and I don’t know where to control it from. Can I get the Icon replaced by a Metar as well? Like one that shows possible thunderstorms.

Current image looks something like:

  1. the text is right, but way too small.

  2. The icon is way wrong. Its not raining, well just a trace but not yet enough to register, but it is overcast and there is lightning.

I’m hoping it rains enough to get something registered but it is just piddling around here though I can see heavy (for around here) rain elsewhere.

If it makes a difference, I’m using 10.17s

re point 1)

the Metar text on the summary image used to be larger but sometimes the reported conditions are long so the text tended to vanish off the right hand edge of the image (e.g. showers; towering cumulonimbus clouds observed),
so I guess Brian chose a smaller, narrower font to allow all the text to fit on the summary image.

hi
yes, the font is deliberatly small, as bristol wx is correct

now, to get the icon to be updated by the metar:

in the ftp/metar download, select the metar to use from the list (have it has the first one in the list (to be sure to be sure)
then tick to use that metar to update the icons/conditions)

(you most likely have done that)
then in the summary image and icon setup, tick , use the downloaded metar to update the icon
try that

(but note, set to not have the icon update by the forecast from the station)
