Spikes in solar graph and how to correct the data

Hi,

hi
there is text based log file for the data like that, but I dont actuly have a convert the log to graph to fix that
but what I could do is have a graph correct, like there is now for the normal weather data, for extra sensors like solar, UV, extre temperature/humidity
(see the graph correct under setup, graph setup)

I’ve logged a bug report about these spikes and dips. (not sure how to reference it in this reply) Any news on them yet Brian. If I could log that raw data it would be a good start.

Thanks.

I notice you have a 1-wire system. I too was having dips and spikes but only in humidity data. I am not sure that WD had anything to do with the spikes because the spikes are gone now that I started using an “iLink” adapter.

Now I know why I couldn’t find it… That would be a great addition. I am not much concerned about the spikes themselves since it only happens infrequently. Just was hoping to get the graph back in line…thanks for the replies folks!

Indeed you may be right, thats why I want to find a record of the raw data from my 1-wire net, so I can indeed see if I have a sensor problem or its a bug. The dip happens at a time when I’m at work so I can’t view the WD screens to check whats going on.

thats good news

solar dips:
its a cloud passing over the sun, or the neighbours washing?

 No - no washing at that height. And yesterday there were no clouds about at that time. Its happening almost like clockwork every day for about 10 minutes, the graph just goes to zero (as also does the WDL display) so it looks like a “data” issue of some sort.

Actually I’ve pinpointed the spike problem with mine. I don’t use 1-wire but I notice it only does it when I have to shut WD down for some reason and when I restart WD (even if it’s only a min later when I restart it)…the solar just goes to 100 percent for about a 15-30 min time span on the graph. I usually run WD all the time so thats why I havent noticed the spikes before.

hi
that will occur with the 2500 station I guess, as data is only available to WD every 15 minutes…
