Works fine on my soon-to-be-former webhost’s server, doesn’t work on my new host’s server. Per support the problem is that the server won’t load a URL containing the ? character.
Their suggestion “One solution is to hard code the configuration variable into the script. Just edit the .swf or .fla file and place “http://www.yoursite.com/wdlm/wdlconfig.xml” where it should be then resave it.”
Help :?
I think this is resolved and it only cost money  upgrading to a different hosting plan than runs apache, not tux - which was the source of the “?” problem.
the problem is that the server won't load a URL containing the ? character
That is amazing - I've never heard of that before! They must do it to stop you running anything interactive.

I think that’s the idea. I was trying www.e-rice.net who offer low cost hosting plans, with “static” plans as low as $5/yr 8O. This is a pretty good deal for 50MB space and 5GB/mo transfer but he does state “Static series can only serve html pages, images and other static content. It does not come with any fancy features but massive amount of data transfer at extremely low cost, ideal for hosting plain html websites or image files for hotlinking.”
Works just fine for regular WD but for WDL you’ll need a standard plan and they start at $10/yr for 100MB space - 3GB/mo transfer, still a good deal.
