Remote Directory doesn't seem to be working

I either don’t understand the setting or it is not working the way I think it should. I have in the FTP settings the following remote directory setting (I’ve tried it with both Unix and DOS style slashes)

/weather/KAZMESA/WD

With the assumption that when the data is ftp’d to the server it will end up in that directory. However, the data ends up in the root directory of the users account instead.

What am I missing?

Also, is there a way to get directly to the FTP/Internet setup without using the web page wizard. These might help some but the way the keep charging on even if you want to stop in annoying.

Figured this one out right after posting…

if you look in the FTP log can you see the following?

CWD /weather/KAZMESA/WD
250 CWD command successful.

I don’t know if this will fix the problem or not but try adding a slash on to the end of the FTP directory

ie /weather/KAZMESA/WD/

sometimes FTP can be picky!!

You got me in the right direction…

I was looking at the log to see what was being sent, but all I was seeing was:

and that doesn’t show the remote side… I found that pushing the View Full log that what I was looking for was now there…

The problem is that with all the other packages I’ve been testing, they all created the directory structure if needed. This one didn’t so it could not put the files into the directory because it did not exist.

As I try different packages, I am loaded them into different subdirectories so that I can have the output of all of them to compare.

WL WeatherLink
WD Weather Display
VWS Visual Weather Station

note the basic WD web page is just that…but that its very flexible once you get into creating your own custom screen, using the custom tags (or even you can add custom tags to the default wd web page)
