Raindetail.gif

The rainfall in my area is often a topic of conversation since we’ve had over 31" of rain so far this year.
Is there an easy way to put the raindetail.gif on the main (front) web page? I even looked in the custom web page setup but didn’t see it there.
I guess I could add that image to my dadhtm3 file, but thought I might be missing something easier.

Thanks!

Edit:
Also, if you would look at this image…the top bar graph on the raindetail.gif…the figures at the top of the graph are way high compared to the lower graph.

Hi,
yes if you are using WD’s auto generated page then you could add the image URL into datahtm3. And yes if you know HTML you could look at using a custom webpage(s) to display data and images the way you want them to (this is what I use) - the custom page overrides the auto generated page.

On raindetail.gif it seems the high figures above the graph are in mm and the graph below is in inches.

cheers

Thanks Martyn - that’s kind of what I figured. I’ve only played with the custom pages a little - time to dig into it.

I wonder if Brian could give some insight with the top bar graph showing mm while the lower graph is in inches?

By the way, I just peeked at your site - very nice! Gives me some incentive to go farther with a custom page.

hi
i will be uploading 10.15h soon, and it will show inches instead of mm there if inches for rain is in use

Thanks Brian -
your ongoing support is amazing!

hi
10.15h is ready now
should be good
i have even added month and year to date rain totals to the raindetail.gif

Awesome - thanks

I added “raindetail.gif” to my datahtm2 file.
It shows fine on my page, but is not updated (still shows the older version with mm and not up to date). Will it update itself at a certain time? I looked around for a while and can’t find how or where to update it myself.

Hi
it updates daily with the averges/extreme update
so try, action, update averages/extreme now

Ahh - yet another menu item I have been overlooking…

Yes, that worked and updated my raindetail.gif
But…
notice at the bottom left of the image - the “rain this month” and “rain this year” are cut off.

I can upload a screen shot of how it looks on my desktop if you need it.

Thanks!

10.15j, ready soon, should fix that

Thanks Brian

After I added the raindetail.gif…
After WD did its next upload - my raindetail.gif that I put in datahrt2 was gone. Should I check “let me manage the datahtm2 file” so it will stay there? Are there any other consequences of checking that box?

I guess it really is time for me to start using the custom pages!

yes, you will need to tick that, then add the html code back
or add it to datahtm3.txt

Got it - just added it to datahtm3 - hope it stays now.

By the way - just love the new night time icon!

it will stay on that file
(and you can also add things to datahtm0.txt and they will stay as well)
thanks go to picolio for that icon
(i iike it to)
I might see if i can find some other better icons to replace some of the other ones (see them all under input daily weather)

Edit:
Working great now - this is just what I wanted on my site being that our rainfall is quite a topic of conversation lately.

Thanks for doing this for me!
