pseudo ports

I am using Mandrake Linux 10.0 and am using a Lantronix UDS10 device server to connect a WMII and datalogger to my home network. I am using remserial to redirect the serial output to slave pseudoport ttys9. Is there anywhere in the setup or init files where pseudoports can be recognized? So far, I have been unable to connect to my device.

Thanks in advance.
Dave

sorry, I think it has to be actual ports, not pseudo

I have a similar setup, except it’s a Lantronix UDS-100. I’ve been using it under Windows just fine with Redirector, albeit with a competitor’s weather station software. I’d love to switch to weatherdisplay on Linux but this is a requirement for me.

So, the pseudoTTY is created and works, but WeatherDisplay won’t connect to it? Is there simply no option for it to connect to a ptty?

It should be extremely simple to make it work, I would think.

Does this mean you cannot use it with Mandrake 10? I have everything configured like it says to in the setup guide, but nothing is coming through the serial port. Anyway to test this?

I have an Oregon Scientific WMR968. It worked with the Windows version in trial mode. I just would rather run it from the Linux server.

maybe try a google search on the tricks/differences with a pseudo com port on linux and a normal one, and also try a search for any kylix com port components that will work with it?

WD does run does run on Mandrake. My setup is a hard port com 1. Has far has presedo ports. I am new to linx. You might try mandrakeonline.com
