Problem with uv and solar time

hi everybody

My solar sensor is a one 1 wire

Simon mentioned that my graphs look very close to one another

The only thing I keep getting confused about is the one hour summertime

Before the clocks went forward Maximum solar and uv took place at noon

Now the clocks going forward it is one o’clock I get the maximum uv/solar

When I look at the UV forecast it says that this is for maximum at noon

My maximum solar and uv takes place at one o’clock on the graphs, but the forecasts always state that it’s the maximum at noon

I run a small program that synchronises my time clock to a web atomic clock

Do you have a link to the forecast? It is most likely in GMT/UTC and not adjusted for the time change. As others have confirmed, solar “noon” in the UK is currently close to 1:00 PM local time.

hi

thanks

When you made Simon’s UV did you make any photos of the inside of the egg?

hi

yes

http://www.weather-above.com/uv1%20mod%20introductions.html

from what Simon saying is solar and uv are not matching on
the graph the only difference between our setup is I am using a one wire solar sensor

Simon is using a solar jar

I understand what you’re saying about my graph they both match

where signing is saying his uv\ it not matching his solar

Thanks. So the diode actually peeks through a hole in the top of the egg?

yes

the diode is a a sealed unit , there is a very tiny O-ring the stops any moisture from getting in to the unit

So assuming the egg is mounted vertically then the design should ensure that the diode is pointing directly up - right?

yes

the sensor detects the uv as soon as the sun comes up ., I’m pretty impressed with the lens angle on the diode

my graphs today I got some UV data missing due to some maintenance on the computer,

I find the device to be very sensitive, the device just needs to be pointing straight up, I use a spirit level bubble to make sure the device is perfectly level
