I’ve attempted to upload the Live program to my Yahoo on osa Yahoon tuotemerkkejä. web site. The problem I have is that the WDL index file has replaced the Geocities “index” file (the file is necessary to maintain the web site) and now I have a blank page. Maybe I’m in over my head ???
Theres two things you can do. 1. create a subfolder and place the index file into it. Or do what i did was create we page with the wdl encoded into it and call it something other then index. which is what i did.

i.e just rename the index.htm for wdl to something else and upload that…
or have it in a separate directory

OK Guys…great recommendations and I thank you. I have managed to get my web site back, and I have created a sub-directory for clientraw.txt, clientrawextra.txt, index.html, wdlv3_02.exe and the wdlconfig.xml files. I guess my next question is how do I change the default upload directory set up in Weather Display to go to my new subdirectory??

no, you dont have to have the clientraw files going to that directory
in the wdlconfig.xml file
just set the location of the clientraw files to where they are now
(in between the
tags in the xml file
and upload that file again (and the index.htm (or what ever you name it , points to that xml file (which then points to the client raw file)

I have made the changes you suggested and now, FINALLY, I see the data page when I click on the index file. Now, however, I see the Evaluation Version overlay, but none of my data is being displayed. The screen keeps flashing and none of the dials are changing to reflect the current conditions.
I know this is driving you guys crazy, but I promise I will purchase this if I can ever get it working properly !!

what is the URL of your WDL page on geocities?

FWIW I use Firefox by Mozilla as a browser. I have checked with IE as well to no avail.

No…as Brian said it wouldn’t be necessary as long as I changed the parameter (location) in wdlconfig.xml file between the tags. I also tried changing the same for the clientrawextra and clientrawdaily tags to no avail.

ah, looking at the WDL help file it says to enter the FULL path of the clientraw files in between the tags in the wdlconfig.xml

for the clientrawextra and clientrawdaily locations
but, also , you need to be using a relatively recent version of wd and the latest clientrawrealtimeftp.exe program to get the clientrawdaily.txt file uploaded

I have sent my payment in. I am currrently trying to figure out (after changing both the index and wdlconf_no_uv_indoor.xml) why I cannot change the config.xml file I choose ( I don’t have the solar sensor). Would this be an evaluation version limitation ?

There’s a setting in your profile to indicate whether you want people to know if you’re online. I suspect Brian has turned his off. Mine was off, but you can now see whether I’m online. That won’t help you much though, because I leave my account logged in all the time!
