Possible Suggestions?

This is a really nice program, clean look, uncluttered. One of the best I have purchased for some time. After comments from some site viewers I have a couple of possible suggestions.

  1. The mouse overs are really helpful for viewer understanding. Could they be extende to include Wind and Gust? An explanation of these would be good. It is not clear to viewers that the wind is the average wind(over what time I’m not sure) rather than the actual.

  2. Can kph be added as one of the defaults to the wldconfig.xml file? - currently listed is mph kts or m/s

  3. Another comment has been around the order of the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Could they be arranged in order of the position of the information on the screen above eg Altitude, Pressure, Wind , Rain, Heat, Temperature, Graph

Just suggestions for consideration to an already great program.

i think Julian has mistakingly left out kmh as an option for the wdlconfig.xml in the readme.txt
but you can use it OK

the average: it depends a bit on the weather station reporting the data…some have averege in the data, some dont…if not, then the average is a rolling average, calculated by weather display

Hi Brian - I’m interested in the rolling average. My station does not have this. What is the time period WD uses for the rolling average?

what weather station type?

  • Yes, next version
2.Already available, sorry - left it off the readme
3.Yes - although with the next version you are going to be able to re-arrange the instruments yourself.

    2310:
wd calculates the average from the current readings from that station, based on a rolling array, which has 6 readings in the array …and that array is rolled each time data comes in…(6 seconds if wired, every 12 seconds or longer if wireless)

Julian, that sounds really good. Looking forward to the next version. Great to get such positive and prompt response from a developer.

    Brain, thanks for the info.
