A few problems that have plagued me ever since the first version with the new graphing system (I am currently at version 10.10P with a Vantage Pro Plus and P4 HT CPU and XP Pro):
The solar percent graph on the summary gif and on the index.gif usually show 0 even thought the HTML table show proper values for raw solar and raw UV.
I still get a file open error whenever WD is first started. Double clicking on the graph or waiting a few minutes clears it.
The auto scaling on the 72 hour graph is odd. Even though the highest temperature on it is currently 62 degress, for example, it shows an upper range of 115. This make it difficult to read as the data is compressed together. The 12 hour graph on the index.gif and main display appears to scale properly.
There is no scale information for ET on the Solar/UV/ET graph display so there is no way to know what the ET graph numbers actually are from looking at the graph.
just quickly at this stage, #4 is related to the file error , which I was not able to duplicate, and is buried somewhere in your settins…some file location it does not like
as for the 72 hour grpah, if you could email (zip) the month42004.inf data file
#1:
do you have the swithc turned ON , on the solar setup?
email me your settings file, wdsiplay.ini and wdisplayftp.reg, from the folder databackup after going action back up registry now
also, i was thinking of adding option to have all files as jpg…
Yep, I zipped everything up and sent it to you. I discovered that, though my solar switch was on, I had to turn it off and then back on after starting WD for it to become effective. Apparently, it, like a number of other things, are related to the file error at startup… I also discovered that some of the settings in my Graph Setup are also not remembered when WD first starts, also apparently because of the file error:
ERROR: File access denied at time/date 7:42:12 AM 4/26/2004
Thanks!
Tom
hi
just wondering if you got the reply to this post....i.e have you checked the above setting, and please email me the settings files
thanks
(no hurry)
i have found something that might just be the problem
to test my theory,
try backing up and then removing your old datafiles from the datafiles folder
i.e month42003.inf, month42002.inf, etc
and or check those files, for persmissions, etc, make not write/read protected
i think i know the routine that is causing the error for you, and i have shifted where that routine is done, so its done as the last thing, after your solar and other things are setup , in a new 10.10s version , beta, uploading now, which will be ready in a few hours time, all going welll
I checked the permissions, etc. on all the files in the datafiles directory and as a double check, I copied them all to a new directory, deleted the old ones, and then copied them back. The same problem still exists.
Also, the routine order that you changed in version s (I’m now running t) did not seem to make any diference either; all the same items are still not remembered at start up.

well, its something in your setup/settings, as no one else reports these problems
and i have not been able to duplicate,
so i suggest the :
install to a new directory, create a file called 2wd.txt there
then start wd there
it will start up like new
setup the basics, like com port, weather station type (you may have to restart it)
as a test
then exit, and copy the datafiles/logfiles/webfiles, and start it up again, as a test

hi tom
so,step by step, please
when you create the file, 2wd.txt, and you start of wd, does it then start up like new, with no settings?
then you know you have a clean slate.
let me know that first step.
