NOAA year reports are rubbish!

Is anyone else seeing rubbish in their noaayearreport? If you take a look below the max rain value is stupid, and I’ve no idea what the Max >= 32.0: 9 refers to, if it’s temps then we have never had temps higher than 32°C, and other stuff in that list seems pointless or meaningless!

I’m trying to get correct reports for when I finally close WD to place as archive data on my website but so far these report have all had errors as far as I can see.

I’ve converted the log files to data files and recreated the reports but still no luck in getting sensible reports.

AFAIK WD does not invent numbers to populate the file…so my 1st question would be…does your January 2021 log file agree with this reported rain amount?

I never really looked at my NOAA reports, but they are confusing and/or messed up.

For example, for 2023 it shows Min <= 32.0: 366. How could I have had minimum temperatures less than 32 (0C) for 366 days in Virginia?

It also indicates the max wind gust for each month occurred at 2357 or 2352 local time.

It shows two lines with max rain, both in 2024, not 2023 and one of zero inches:
Max Rain: 0.00 ON 31-01-24
Max Rain: 1.76 ON 17-12-24

@dcrooks it’s not the month summary values but all that data extracted below, the max and min values etc which are complete rubbish. Why two lines of days of rain? They both cannot be correct! There could never be 112 days with minimum of 0°C in this part of the world and 9 days of over 32°C is also rubbish. Now if those values are °F it is just as rubbish, 9 days of temp over 32°F is also rubbish. All this data is complete rubbish. Also there is no clear indication of what the units should be for this stuff.

In order for me to have an archive of data using these reports I am going to have to remove all this max/min stuff.

Stuart

I don’t seem to have been producing those, but I have been producing climatedatayearoutYYYY.html, which look nicer and have less “rubbish” at the foot. . .

This is my Climate data for the year 2023

Not to sure about the snow?

Me neither

I also create those climate reports but CumulusMX produces NOAA reports which are nicely structured so I thought I’d use NOAA reports to match showing my data from before CumulusMX.
