NMEA 0183 output format...

Brian,

At home I run an WMR928N weather station to WD, and I’ve an interest in the sea and matters maritime.

There is a communications format called NMEA 0183 for transferring data from sensors like GPS etc. for use in e.g. electronic chart systems. One of the nmea message options is to transmit/receive weather related information e.g. wind speed and direction (see http://www.windmill.co.uk/monitor52.html for an overview).

Would it be possible to include an option to export NMEA 0183 formatted weather data to a serial port so it could be used in e.g. electronic charting systems? I will provide full details of the relevant nmea messages if required.

i actualy have wd working the other way around, being able to work with nmea weather data from marine weather stations, already

Was this feature (NMEA 0183 output of wind data) ever implemented? I am interested in the same thing.
