New Webcam caption in WD 10.20a

Good morning Brian,

nice feature in WD 10.20a with the webcam capture program, but how can I use it with WDL?
WDL says only “Infinity”. Is it the wrong format (.jpg) WD creates? I use it with an overlay with actual time and windspeed.
And… please remember the com-port release time. 2min is not possible with the 2min setting.

Have a nice day

Sascha

hi
its working OK with WDL here,…and no changes made by me
i have it set to create a jpg file, and have the general ftp uploading that
so not sure why its not for you…

It

Does anyone have the new web cam capture component (static image) of WD v20 + working flawlessly? What image format do you save for placing the image on a web page? Do you have the text overlay including tags working properly?

I can

Works okay here, 320x240, don’t have solar, but wind and temp tags ok as well as text overlay…

works OK for me,the custom tags, I have solar description working, and rainfall tag
careful placing a % symbol though after a custom tag

do you have the tag in the special tag list place holder?
now crashes or lockups here for me

I have the single picture working nicely. No problems so far. I haven’t figured out how to get the streaming video working yet.

I haven't figured out how to get the streaming video working yet.
click on direct network streaming then click on start now

thats all that is needed for that poart
(it should then say in the log , something like:
streaming URL: mms://WEATHERDISPLAYM:80
streaming host: WEATHERDISPLAYM
streaming port: 80
started stream

where WEATHERDISPLAYM is the name of my PC (it will be different for you)
then you to view it, its:
mms://(the IP address of you pc):80

now, the IP address of your pc is the tricky one, but i have setup , myself , and its free, dynamic IP, from DYNdns.org
and so my web cam is always visible from:
mms://grahamsbeach.gotdns.com:80

and i have a program running that auto updates that dynamic IP (3D watch)

Yes.

No crashes since 3PM but I have a lot of these: From Program error log WDv10.20b
ERROR: A component named Formwebcamimageduringday already exists at time/date 9:30:07 PM 12/5/2004
Above error or program log occured at :9:30:07 PM 12/5/2004

i have not seen that before…
do you have the all day web cam setup…
see under view, web cam images from during the day…
i.e set to create and upload the all day animated web cam ?
I would try restating wd again
hopefully things will settle down for you

No animated web cam set anywhere. Only capture an image every 15 min. upload during daylight only.

Re: Solar

does that error show up when you go to view, web cam images from during the day?

No. Most of the time when I click on view, web cam images from during the day nothing happens. I only got to it once (for the avove post).

Using 10.20c now. I still have some questions on streaming video.
First, i click network streaming tab. Then do I click direct network streaming or streaming to a Windows Mediapublishing point?
What do I click for recording method.
Do I need the publishing URL?
What are ASF profiles?
Is the log to the left of the video image? This is all it says"[INFO] using video device: LifeView Capture (WDM)
Thanks for the help. I just don’t seem to be able to grasp this streaming video stuff.

Here are my settings. Be sure you click on “start recording” to start it up. You will see a status message in the left hand box.

all I did was tick direct network streaming
then click on start
and then it was availble, once I opened up the router…
(it will say in the log window that it has started the streaming)

Thanks, I now have it streaming according to the log. Now i just have to get it through the network router.
Thanks again.

Weatherbee, is your site supposed to be running Weather Display Live at all?

I tried to access but not a lot is happening apart from the page refreshing several times a second?

I can see you are using Flash and it is trying to load a movie file called flash_detection.swf and not a Weather Display Live swf file?

Cheers

something very strange with your website weatherbee
i guess you are working on things with the router?
i enabled port 80 virtual HTTP on my router, in the advanced setup…
