I just ordered a new Davis Vantage Pro 2. Is it compatable with WD? and what should I know about changing weather stations. WD is currently configured to work with my LaCrosse 2310.
I know there has been some talk about a new Vantage Pro coming out, but I didn’t think it is available yet.
Which model number did you get and where did you order it from?
The current models are well supported by WD.

I preordered the Vantage Pro 2 from Scientific Sales www.scientificsales.com it is supposed to ship around Thanksgiving. The model number is 6152. I have never ordered from this company, I will let you know how it goes.
I believe the only difference in the new model is improved wireless performance. As soon asI get it up and running I will let you know if I have any problems.

that is were I ordered my VP, and never had any problems with them. they shipped it fast, and i got a good price too 
Wonder if Davis will offer an upgrade… Most likely would be pretty expensive though.

Looks like the new VP uses the same datalogger I have now on my WMII station. That’s what got me thinking about upgrading…
Thank you for the birthday wishes, as a matter of fact I did order it for my birthday, with my wife’s approval of course. I think I am going to donate my old Lacrosse to our sailing club. That way I know if it’s worth a trip to the lake or if it’s better to stay home and drink beer.
