New issue: temp/rain/wind details not updating

Hey guys,

Yet another new issue: Now all the temp/wind/rain details page stopped updating on 1/20

If I go into WD, the data is there. Like the other issue (feels like 212 and hi/low temps being wrong) the data appears to be in WD

NOT trying to point fingers but this seemed to have started after I updated new PHP scripts. So it is very likely i messed something up. I just don’t know where to look

Any help is appreciated. Also if anyone wants to help fix and/or give my whole site a lookover, happy to compensate $$ for your time.

Thanks

on my hosting site, I found the dailynoaareport.htm file - and that is where it stops at jan 20 – so why isn’t this getting updated.

Oh and same for the dailyclimateout.html

I believe I can manually force it to update, but would love to resolve why its not doing it to begin with

That file (dailynoaareport.htm) is created/updated by Weather-Display. Perhaps a setting in WD has changed?

Check WD, Control Panel, FTP/Connections:

Looking some more in the WD directory, the dailynoaareport file was updated just after midnight and has all the current data

So it’s just not getting over to my hosting site

NO changes to WD or MacOS have been done for some time

I know it’s a cliche for IT problems, but have you turned it (WD) off and on again?

Since the 21st most definitely. WD appears to be doing its just. IMHO the field aren’t being sent (not sure why) or scripting issue after all php updates. I could do that today but wont see results till tomorrow. I"m purposely not manually updating them in case anyone wants to look around.

Are there any errors in the FTP log?

GOOD callout. Yes they are in the FTP log but not on my host site

All other files appear to be coming in. I’m still thinking a script issue (possibly something I caused)

Ken I looked for that. Mac and windows versions are different. I cannot find what you are showing.

I was able to find this (screenshot) which would indicate the file is being created but not uploaded.

My webpage status file says the NOOA have not been updated since 1/21

I manually pushed the files over and it is now updated. I guess see what happens tomorrow.

I don’t know if your screenshot is showing file creation or upload times, but if it’s upload times there don’t seem to be any times scheduled. I think the big empty column in the middle should show the scheduled times. Try clicking the ‘Update Hourly’ button to see if you get any times shown.

Hello DeputyDawg,
I had the same thing happen with me a few months ago,
I set the upload to happen at 12:14 instead of the 12:08 default,
also the wd program has to be running at that time.
here’s a screen shot of my settings

are the file permissions set right on your server?

@docmarv are you windows or mac/ the version are different what setting is that. You mention 12:14 gut I see 8:28 there. I can NOT find in the mac version where the checkbox is for update aveerages/extremes

@blainec I didnt check permissions. However, everything else works. I have changed NOTHING in WD or macOS. Scrips were all recently updated. Also yesterday when I manually moved them they worked.

This morning nothing from last night

Found it… and its set
In another set up page the "detailed daily climate data/noaa - file create is green but file upload is red. No idea how to change this. Again have not changed these settings for years

They appear to be in the FTP log but not on the hosting site. whats different about these files that aren’t getting uploaded

I am on a very old version of the App Store version of Mac WD. I guess updating can’t harm

Yes, update WD to the latest version. It will likely fix your clientraw.txt issue too.

On the same screen you found the NOAA reports being created, just set an upload schedule too.

Ken, does this screenshot look right then for midnight-10 When i click on show upload times it is blank. Should that be? or does it need to go through once?

At least in windows, click the “set” button in the Customize Internet and File Creation panel. In the window that appears, show file create times is on the left and show file upload itmes on the right. Set the file upload times as you desire and upload file now. Then hit “save now” and ok to exit that screen.

Good luck.

Jim

Thanks, confirmed it’s scheduled at 00:10. Fingers crossed

But what boggles me as this has always worked. I changed NO settings nor any updates to WD or MacOS

You had a crash. Things can get blown up when there is a file write at the time of the crash. Backups! There is an automatic backup function in the control panel. If things seem odd after a crash, copy the ini out of the last backup.
