Metar problems - use this url instead

Hi: two questions:

  1. I’m trying to download a metar for station CWGB. Now the regular NOAA site, for some reason, has the last update for this station as March 26, 2003 which is a little out of date by now

Try CWGB.TXT as the metar station

Hi CaptDilli: thanks for the response. If I use CWGB.TXT as the station then I get the Mar 26, 2003 data. I’m wondering if there is a way to get the current data that is given in this url: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/METAR/CWGB.1.txt
thanks
dave

you will need to change the ftp download locations too
srh.noaa.gov
as the server
data/METAR/
as the directory

try that

Does not work for me. I enter www.srh.noaa.gov as the server and the WD v10.20d records:
Next file HTTP metar station download
http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/data/observations/metar/decoded/CWGB.1.TXT

Does not work for me.

what about trying using the HTP download, and setting the URL there?
i will do some testing soon …

another option
try ticking use the ham weather server
and set the metar name to download
(but note wd expects it to be 4 letters normaly)

also, note, normaly the ftp download, the top section, is for forecast/warning files, etc…

and the bottom section is for metar files

I did that. The file was downloaded.
Issue

it will overwrite the file
the number sequence is there for animating sat images, etc
but the file without the number will be overwritten

Thanks Brian and CaptDilli - the http method does download the file, but I’m unsure as to how I get the metar’s humidity and local sky conditions icon into the summary.gif file using this method.

Also, Brian, any comments on my first question in my original post about not having a rain gauge and the Curr weather Dry line…I know you’re busy.

thanks, dave
