Lightning Count

Hi Brian
I have two things. 1. If I check Labjack counter under (setup,I have Labjack,view readings) it will say 10, and if I look at WD Lightning count it will say 20. It looks like it doubles the count. 2. I don’t think WD is writing to the lightninglog.txt file, it is always empty. Thanks Joe

ok, i haved added the write to the log file now for the labjack routine, for the next version of wd
not sure why its double counting at this stage, but i did find an intialisation error that i have fixed

The log files are working and have the right count. Thank You Here is a screen shot of the lightning window, the count on right side with time is right count 24 but total shows 48? The main screen also showes 48? Also the Total since noon always shows 0. I hope this will help.

i know the dallas boys have reported the same thing
i have looked before, but could never see anything obvious
i will do another look!
I might also grab the lightning counter from the farm, and hook it into the labjack i now have running with wd here, and so i can have a lightning counter here :slight_smile:

i have found the problem
i was allocating the count to the minute array as and when the lightning strike occured,instead of at the change of minute…

uploading a new 10.13k version now

and i have also fixed the count since noon not working with the labjack counter

did you see leo where you can ftp the clientraw.txt file to another ftp server?
(see in the webfiles /real time ftp setup)

Hi Brian

Hope all is well and that everything is going well with the new house. Yes, the lightning counts looks good on the Dallas also. I just installed the new lightning detector today and gave it a check with a gas lighter and the counts look good. I have to get the data grd line connected to earth ground, as you suggested, and see if that will keep me from blowing out the DS9097U’s althought I’m now using the IButton Link now.

The counter is working good but I found that when I Reset Values the Total Since Noon does not reset. I also found that when I restart WD program ligntning.txt file is cleared of data. Thanks Joe
