Hello all, this is my first post here and new user to Weather Display so if this question was asked before and answered I apologize in advance. Is there a license transfer tool available or is this something Brian has to do? I am not worried about my database because it is only a few days old, I bought a new desktop Pc and would like to transfer to that and use my laptops as clients.

Is it possible this file ini. file is called something else now…"On the new computer, look in C:\wdisplay\databackup for “wdisplay.ini”… Cannot find it in the databackup folder

I was wondering if it is possible to just transfer the license to a new PC. My old setup doesn’t populate things consistently and I was thinking a clean install would be best. I need a newer OS anyway. My old Win7 is a little behind the times.
Yes, follow the instructions in the FAQ shown in post #2 above. You install the latest version on top of the files you have copied over, and retain your registration.
Those steps bring all of the old files over which in my case will sprinkle old dead files that I no longer need. Now I can delete them manually but that is one reason why I asked about a clean install. Also any bad registry keys also are reinstalled on the new PC.

I don’t actually know, but you might still be able to use the old wdisplay.ini file to transfer your settings, records, etc. If not, it will be a long haul to remember everything you have done to set up WD the way you want it
