The data for 2016 is not appearing, but for previous years it appears.
he is using version 2.8 of the templates.
same problem on my own WEATHER REPORTS page and I am using version 2.6…of the templates. I am not sure if any data for 2016 Ever appeared or not for either site, but just noticed this tonight and wondered if maybe you can figure out why this is happening for the 2016 year data.
Current known issues:
Yahoo move from open RSS feed to “OAth-secured” feed => results in ?-mark icon and error message when debug is on
WeatherUnderground move from http to https and used a redirect for that. => result no data for WU history text, WU history reports, almanac data
Please ALWAYS check the support page at http://support.leuven-template.eu/
At the top menu you can choose for “issues” => release 2.8 and 2.7 and find solutions there.
For 2.6 release use the 2.7 scripts.
As always make a copy/backup of the affected scripts before replacing them. I always rename the current scripts by adding something in front of the name (do not use zz, as i do that already) and by doing that keep old versions nicely at the bottom of the folder list.
EXTRA: For the report scripts, the data is cached and refreshed only twice a day for the current year. So after replacing the WU scripts remove the Ixxxxxxxx-year-2016.txt file from the cache folder.
xxxxx stands for your WU name, in my case it is IVLAAMSG47-year-2016.txt
so I went onto my server and then into my weather2 folder and I found my weatherreports folder and replaced the exsiting wsReports1part.php with the new one…BUT I cant find where the other 3 files are suppose to go on my server.
once I replaced my wsReports1part.php with the new file my 2016 data is displaying but above it I get an Error Notice and it reads as follows…
Notice: Undefined variable: phpselftop in /home/gateway77capecod/public_html/weather2/wsreports/wsReports1part.php on line 191
any Idea what is causing this error? also any idea where the other 3 files go or do I not need them? I am using version 2.6 of the leuven templates
on another note I also noticed that when viewing my leuven site with Internet explorer 11…it cant display the steel gauges and some of my css colors are wrong, but when I view the same site using Pale Moon browser it all looks correct.
guess it may be time, when I have the time…to upgrade my leuven templates to the newest version
see attachement named page2 below of how is looks with IE11 Browser
and attachement named page3 of how it looks and is suppose to look using pale moon browser
Your site switches debug on, but why i can not locate that quickly in your settings.
This is in your html.
– debug is switched on by index.php because of user request - error reporting ALL –
also any idea where the other 3 files go or do I not need them? I am using version 2.6 of the leuven templates
The download is meant for 2.7 and I did not find time to make a download for 2.6
The readme should explain were the files go. I will check that.
Hi Wim
I updated the files as found in the update on issues, and deleted the cache file but I still get an error for weather reports and a new cache file has not been created.
WU, I hope this is something trivial. The scripts are working at other places. I adapted a small test program just to check if there is a block for https on your webserver. The script will load the same wu_link in an iframe in your browser (which should always work) and on your webserver.
If that works OK i will need to add some debug code to see the errors when the wsreports script decides there is no data.
was also going to mention that windows 10 does still have Internet Explorer 11 which not many people are aware of this and I found this out myself by accident awhile ago when I upgrade my laptiop from Win8 to win 10, but have switched back to win8 as I didnt care much for Windows 10 or microsoft Edge and some other things with win10. another way to fin IE 11 in windows 10 is this way…
Internet Explorer 11 is included with Windows 10. It is not, however, the default browser; Edge is the default. To run it, you should search for Internet Explorer: click the Start Button, then start typing “Internet”. It should show up as a search result.
Once you have found it, I recommend you pin it to the Taskbar, or the Start Menu, so you can find it again quickly.
as for the latest fix…the data for 2016 does appear but still am getting that error at top that says this"notice: Undefined variable: phpselftop in /home/gateway77capecod/public_html/weather2/wsreports/wsReports1part.php on line 191" also did the update on the tarryrown NY site, which is also using version 2.6 of the templates and the same error for his site appears there to. his site is here…http://www.tarrytownnyweather.com/weather2/index.php?p=11&lang=en
it is not a big deal for me and if there is never a fix for it I wont loose any sleep over it, just wanted to mention it incase anyone else mentions it also.
The best thing I guess for us to do that are using older versions of the templates is to upgrade to the newest version.
One last thing I wanted to mention for you and anyone else reading these posts that is not aware of it is this. If you dont like the look and layout of Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 with all the Tiles for Navigation and would like to get the old style Start Menu there is a free to use program called Classic Shell and it will give ability to make your Start Button Menu look the way it did with windows 7/winxp…you can download it from here…
The testprogram runs OK in a browser. When run on your server the error message is
Error codes: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate
You should contact your provider as there is e a certificate or settings problem. As no other users on dozens of different hosts have a problem with the WU certificate, it is probable a setting in your hosting environment. This is the general comment when doing a Google search:
Relating to 'SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate' error. Rather obviously this applies to the system sending the CURL request (and no the server receiving the request)
The other “solution” is to tell the CURL that no checking whatsoever should be done, but this violates the whole idea of https.
You should add one line just between line 217 and 218 in weather??/wsreports/wsReportsFunctions.php so it should look like this after you added the line.
i tested with IE11 (on windows 10) also. no problem at all, The gauges are displayed. I think you are running in compatibillity mode as all rounded corners are square ones.
Please try IE11 on a different PC as all tests here are OK.
Wim
Yes you were right, I had compatability Mode on and once I switched it off …gauges are showing. no idea why I ever turned it on in compatability, but it is off now and working fine.
also downloaded and installed and still in process of configuring the latest template version 2.8f and my work in progress is here…
