Oster Manhay Belgium
you mean that?
that is the station name that you set in the webfiles/web page, real time ftp setup
I think you mean the current conditions text? That is fed directly from Weather Display or from a Metar.
Julian
Yes Softvark. That is what I mean.
I checked with other forum members webpages in different languages and it’s all in the same language.
No Windy. I mean the textual description of weather.
try the latest version of wd, as I have checked for the special german language symbols
but, otherwise, in wd, you can set your own description for the rain leve descriptions
(see via summary image and icon setup)

This is ‘by default’ in the wdlconfig.xml file as xml has an encoding declaration at the top of the file. Even if a txt file was saved with that encoding I’m not sure that Flash would understand it. Worth a try though!
Julian
Well, I tried Kromblom’s advice, but the problem is still there for the name of the station location. This name is transferred with the clientraw-files to the WDL (flash) window. Many names of places in Norway contains letters as
Brian should be able to modify WD to pre-process those characters with the replacements in the clientraw files.
Julian
yes, i will do that, for the station name, for the next release of wd…
Thank you Brian. That will be great.

Hi Brian
What about this
Hi Brian
I have tested clientraw files and wdlconfig saved in UTF-8 encoding. It seems to work fine concerning the Norwegian letters. If this is the case and if clientraw and clientrawextra can be saved in that format by WD, it is not longer necessary to do this special translation of the 3 letters. Am I right?
Ottar
yes,thats correct
and, good news, I have found a component to create the files in UTF_8 format
and its working!
( i have tested in a test WDL )
but, my internet connection is very slow today, so I am cant get this updated version uploaded
tomorrow…
i got a test uploaded, an hour later…

note, I have not been able to purchase and register the component yet, internet connection too slow,…so thats why the initial start up nag
my internet connection speed speeding up a bit…i managed to get the component purchased and I have updated the zip version from the normal download location now, 10.36u build 27, so download from
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
which now will show language characters in WDL correctly

Hi
Yes, this will be great. But the Davis VP2 forcast is not showing in my WDL. The forecast with the right letters is present in the clientrawextra file… In WDL the text filed is alternating between the current condition, which is showing correct, and “-----”?
