Ken back from hospital .. please be gentle

On Feb 12, 2025 my wife took me to the ER with a high fever and mental confusion. They screened for possible stroke (negative).
The confusion and fever were caused by severe sepsis (E-coli leaking from kidney infection). Multiple rounds of antibiotics, CT scans, and blood tests got me to the point where 2 days after admission, I was no longer confused.

They did pump in the saline IV and it accumulated while my kidney function was restored to full function again. Downside was 17lbs of water weight gain making my walking difficult with swollen lower legs.

I was released on Feb 18, 2025 for home care. With the water-weight gain, promptly fell at the one step up to our front door and scratched my face on glasses, but nothing other than my pride was damaged.

Now on continuing antibiotics and diuretic so the water weight gain is slowly coming off and I’m feeling more comfortable now.

I’ve you’re wondering why I’d not responded to PMs or emails, that’s why, so be gentle as I try to catch up for a week’s absence online.

Best regards,
Ken

BTW – pay attention to UTI symptoms lest they get away from you like mine did.
