Just starting out

I downloaded an evaluation copy of Weather Display today. I tried to go through the set up wizard, but the application crashed when it got to the part where one selects their weather station model. I restarted WD and went through some of the control panel items. My first impression was wow! So many options and check boxes. It is going to take me a while to figure this out.

Two observations right off the bat…I could not figure out how to set my LAT/LON. There seems to be a place to do this in the SUN/Moon seciton, but it would not let me enter any information.

Also, I set up Weather Underground and CWOP, turned on the Internet, but neither seemed to update. I am not sure what I did wrong, but will have to spend some time studying the set up screens.

My set up, if anyone has any hints, is:

Davis Pro 2<–>Windows XP Pro<–>dedicated connection to the Internet

I wish to upload to my own web site (looking for hints on how best to get started with that), the Weather Underground, and CWOP.

Thanks.

Welcome!

You need to use the up/down buttons at the top of the sun moon page, you can’t key in the numbers.

hi
i need to run that wizard myself, LOL, to see how it goes

also, one important thing, make sure you have the main internet switch ON, in the ftp/internet settings, connecitons setup
let us know how you get on

Sorry if this is a silly question, but do you have accounts for both services? You need to set an account up first before you can upload data.

i see you have a basic web site for weather data from WD going already …good stuff

I have the basic WD page updating, as was already pointed out. I have also have the updates to the Weather Underground and CWOP working. WD has run flawlessly for the past few days. So given WD and WeatherLink run ok, I would guess that VWS has some issues.
