I loaded up an old copy of Virtual Weather Station I had paid for a while ago. I was going to try it with my 1 wire station. After downloading and installing the latest version, when I selected the 1 wire under station type, VWS informed me I needed “a DDE server, available for free download from pointsix.com”.

Only problem is pointsix is now charging $99.00 for the software. So VWS expects you now to pay $99.95 for their software, then spend another $99.00 to get the software to allow the 1 wire to run. All the while Brian has native 1 wire compatability built in.

i wish i was clever enough to add the 1 wire to linux…it could be done…by porting already availabel c++ code that simon has done
also, the point siz 1 wire adaptor they get people to purchase is much more expensive than the equivalent one from aag
