JavaScript WDL version 1.0.0 alpha.

Hooray!
Iā€™m glad to see you got the units starting out how you wished!

Brian is right about the graphs playing up a bit, but as he says, that is fixed by getting the newest version of WD

Being able to set the datafile location would be nice, thanks

Just need to wait for the script files to refresh, and then Iā€™ll hand over the new config file to Brian. Shouldnā€™t take more than a couple hours.

I would also like to add that you can name the HTML file anything you want, so that the URL to your page has a bit more flexibility.
Brian, would you mind adding that to the readme? (Thank you for setting that up, by the way! :D)

Also, for anyone interested, the GitHub repo can be found here: https://github.com/Yerren/FreshWDL. In the ā€œProjectsā€ tab, you should be able to see what is planned, and under the ā€œIssuesā€ tab, bugs and suggestions will be added (anyone can do that!). I will get round to putting all the suggestions that have been made on here into it as well.

After uploading the 2 small files as per your instructions and voila! - itā€™s working perfectly

This was the easiest setup ever. Donation on its way. Many thanks Yerren

Have set mine up but changed the htlm file name

http://www.fairfieldweather.info/wdl.html

Have also changed the title name in the tab, and the title name when the page first loads up.

Very impressed Yerren. I am not that great with setting up pages but this was so simple.

My 2 cents worth, I agree with many that a dial for wind would be great, I would also like to see the ability to remove an instrument for eg, I do not have UV or Solar on my weather station.

Could all the unit setting buttons down the bottom be consolidated to one and when clicked, then have the ability to change the units ???

Can the background colour of the page be changed ??? I tried but was unsuccessful.

Also, on my old flash page, I have added into my html links so that I can link to the WD page.

What i did notice when viewing it on my phone, and when rotating the phone, the page did resize but was too large to display with the phone rotated without any ability to scroll down to view the missing data.

Sorry I am not being picky, just adding in some options possible ???

My old page is

http://www.fairfieldweather.info

Working for me too, so simple to set up and looking forward to developments. Excellent job, well done!

Nick

Yes, I have noticed this as well. Still an excellent effort for v1.0.0 alpha

Thank you!

I like that youā€™re being a bit creative with it, and I appreciate the suggestions!

As far as removing instruments, changing background colour etc. it would all be very possible with a custom html setup, which is something I am thinking about for the future.
It would mean that people could adjust more things related to their own page, but would need to check for and download a new html file every once in a while, if new gauges got added.

However, at this stage that is still a fair while off, as there are more pressing things that need to be fixed (like the phone rotation etcā€¦) 8O

As for the links at the bottom of the page and the counter, that doesnā€™t sound too difficult to implement. I will send you a PM later today when I have had time to look at it!

Thank you both very much, I appreciate it!

new update ready re setting the clientraw path in the config.js

Looks like the solar instrument defaults to displaying % of max solar. Not everyone has WD setup to calculate that (I donā€™t) so it would be good to have the option for a W/m2 instrument instead.

I have added link to github info to the readme and about the html file name too

The rainfall last 31 days chart has numeric date format, e.g. 04/01. It would be better use alpha format, e.g. Jan 4 same as the other 31 day charts, so those of us who use the month/day date order donā€™t bug you for a date format option

Can the rain gauges scale in some way? Even with climate change my monthly and annual rain in inches is unlikely to register on 500 and 1000 scale instruments.

Hi Yerren

Thank you for your prompt reply.

The counter I got installed very simply by adding the stat counter code (the code that they provide) into the html page. I made it invisible on this page. I did try it so that it displays which it did. but opted to go invisible.

I am very impressed at what you have achieved and do acknowledge some suggestions are way down the track.

I am not good with html but it probably would be a simple line that could ne entered into the html that would change the back ground colour. I will continue to play with this and see if I can get somewhere.

Although the steel gauges would work, I am not as much a fan of them as what I am for the flash page and now your java page.

I am with Niko on can the rain guages scale as I will never get to 500mm in a month. I note the daily is max to 41mm and I assume this will upscale if 451mm in a day is exceeded.

Also, I assume the temp will auto scale if temps go above 30 degrees ???

Thank you Yerren WDL will live on when flash is no longer supported.

Ok I sucessfully changed the background colour by adding the below into the html. Of course if others want a different colour you just need to change the #93B874

body { background-color: #93B874; }

Have a look

http://www.fairfieldweather.info/wdl.html

I have also added 2 links at the bottom, one that takes you to the WD page for historical data, and the other is an email me link.

Happy to put my edited html here if anybody wants to see what i have done.

Nice one huggy

Ah interesting, I hadnā€™t realized that. It shouldnā€™t be too difficult to make that an optionā€¦ I can feel some more settings getting added to the config file in the future

Good plan, Iā€™m not sure why it wasnā€™t already like this!

All those type of gauges will scale to fit any data. It does seem a bit strange to have it starting so high, however, so I will adjust the starting point to be a bit more reasonable!

Ah, nicely done!
Having a background colour makes the white behind the graphs look a bit strange, I findā€¦ I might need to find out if I can make the background of them transparent, and see how that looks

Just noticed, temp and winchill are displaying exactly the same info ā€¦not sure if this is supposed to be ??? on old flash page its doing the same so has something changed in WD for this to happen ???

On your page Yerren, with your temps being better than me today, i see the winchill gauge is still displaying on yours whereas at those temps, it would switch to Humidex on mine.
