My VP has just said “It’s raining cats and dogs” on the display, does WD pick this up at all and allow it to be dislpayed via a custom tag? Would be real neat to inject some humour to waether pages!
yes it does
the VPforecast custom tag
I looked in the custom tag list but can’t find it…
it is
%vpforecasttext%
Thanks - have it written down now -
Thought that I would find it in the list -
Now I wonder what other tags are available that aren’t on the list…
the tag is listed in the owntemplate.txt file - it is in the barometer section.
when did you do a last full install of WD (not just the zip file)? - a full install includes things like an updated owntemplate.txt with new tags
Ok - I found it
I usually look for the tags under custom web page set up - which is obviously the same list as owntemplate.txt
Just didn’t look that hard under barometer.
Thanks!
actualy that list in that screen is outdated…I need to update that one
update: actualy, it reads in the owntemplate.txt file…
I thought that it was reading it from owntemplate - just my way of getting to it quick by using custom web page set up.
I would assume that “create custom tag file” reads the same.
Brian (keep typing that as Brain and having to go back and correct ) this is really trivial but my weather page just updated while we were having a ‘Its raining Cats & Dogs’ rain event but the %vpforecasttext% tag on my site still has the forecast on it! The cats & dogs phrase does not come up as forecast but simply displays at the bottom of the VP console so I’m wondering if you still get any signal of that from the VP? Anyway I was a bit disappointed as it did not show!
